Following a curatorial collaboration on the program Active Archives(opens in a new tab) at the House of World Cultures, Berlin, Hoetger was invited by visual artist Salim Bayri to work with him on the artist’s website(opens in a new tab). As an editorial advisor, Hoetger built texts from their ongoing conversations, drawing together elements of her own analysis with personal reflections shared by Bayri vis-à-vis voice messages. In addition to writing the artist’s bio statement, Hoetger also wrote project descriptions for: Corner Links (2019); Hadra Collider (2021-ongoing); Smart Shop (2016-ongoing); and You Can Keep It Eat It (2021). Versions of these texts now circulate as the definitive descriptions for the projects.
Special thanks to Bayri for the invitation to collaborate.
