Card 0: The Fool from the Mother Peace tarot deck.
Episode #0 is guided by the tarot card of The Fool・:*:・゚which invites us to listen to with an open heart through the noise, the error and the uncertainty, and to extend listening across space and time.
Sonic Feminist Fabulations (SFF) is a live on-air radio performance that experiments with the poetics and politics of displacement and diasporic (ecological) memories. The project was initiated by sound artist and choreographer Paula Montecinos Oliva in 2022 as a response to radio’s unique capacity to stretch and contract time, creating connections between invisible listeners across spaces, contexts, and coexisting temporalities. In 2024, Hoetger joined the project as an active collaborator, helping to conceive and develop aspects of the episodes, as well as the broader SFF framework, together with Montecinos Oliva.
Sonic Feminist Fabulations, episode no. 0 was produced on 19 October 2024 within the frame of the THIRD Forum at DAS Graduate School, Amsterdam. The episode was realized in collaboration with Eli Wewentxu who contributed a live violin performance to the episode, and Elisa Batti who assisted with the radio broadcast livestream. Special thanks as well to Annieck Kleizen for her production support on the performance.
